Holy Moly. Talk about Talented! WELL…. This is just PHENOMENAL! 🙂 I was writing a post about Postmodern Jukebox when I stumbled upon this little GEM. It deserves a post all of it’s own. This is seriously good. Have a listen.
This version of FAITH is by Von Smith featuring Casey Abrams, Rayvon Owen, Haley Reinhart, Scott Bradlee, Postmodern Jukebox tour cast.
If you haven’t heard of Postmodern Jukebox check them out. They are a supremely talented Musical Collective that originated in New York and they are currently on tour.
Von Smith describes this song on his youtube channel: “In March of 2017 I toured the U.K. for the first time with some incredibly talented people that I’m fortunate to call friends. This is our silly backstage version of the Stevie Wonder song “Faith” from the SING animated film soundtrack.”
Von Smith has opened for Lady Gaga, has two original albums under his belt, and has been seen on various TV Shows including American Idol season 8 where he was one of the top 17 finalists. Von has also toured the world, performing in front of symphonies conducted by Marvin Hamlisch, and as a special guest with Postmodern Jukebox after garnering over 40 million views on their YouTube channel.
I can’t believe that I had NEVER heard this song! How could you miss something so good??!!! Yet judging by a lot of the Youtube comments on the original with Stevie Wonder a lot of people missed out on this catchy little number.
The song was nominated for Best Original Song written for a motion picture at the 74th Golden Globe Awards. It was performed by American singer and songwriter Stevie Wonder and features Ariana Grande. It was the lead single on the soundtrack of the 2016 musical-animated film “Sing”. A film I have never seen which is probably why I never heard the song before.

I was not familiar with this song, but I have to say both versions are quite enjoyable. I don’t know which one I like better! But I do like the animations in the Stevie Wonder version…
Can you believe I am only seeing half of your comments now!! For some bizarre reason about half of them went into another folder in the cms system. Bizarre! Anyway Yeah I think both these versions are excellent. Though I didn’t know the song existed until I heard the Postmodern Jukebox version. 🙂
