HALLO everyone. It is the weekend before Halloween. 🙂 If you want to create some hauntingly good food this Halloween you might want to check out this spooktacular little series on Netflix. They describe “The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell” as follows:
“Wickedly talented baker and artist, Christine McConnell welcomes you into her terrifyingly delicious home to create delectable confections and hauntingly disturbing decor with the help of her colourful collection of creatures.”
The show was created by Netflix, Wilshire studios and The Henson Alternative, an arm of The Jim Henson Company.
It launched last October 2018 and was created by and starred Christine McConnell. It ran for one series. Christine starred as an Artist and Baker with a penchant for glamorous clothing and creating delectably decadent confections.
The show has a story, such as what to wear on a first date with that guy you met at the cemetery, and mixes cookery, making confections, art and DIY. Christine McConnell has a large Web following and is a Photographer and Stylist based in Los Angeles, California.
This is a very unique, niche cooking show that will probably appeal to children and families that like Spooky things! It’s very watchable due to it’s Gothic ambience and use of Puppetry. Think Morticia meets The Muppets! Or Ditta von Teese in Sesame Street.
This is just a FUN show and Christine is very talented. Think Werewolves, spooky cookies, intricate confectionery creations and Mad Tea Parties. Her Curious Creations really are Works of Art! Almost too good to eat…
You will, however need a certain level of expertise to create confections to the standard she has. Make no bones about it. But if you can’t cook you might like it for the Spooky, Kooky, Comedy that it is. 😉
