I’m all up for a bit of binge watching on Netflix. Bit of light entertainment on winters evenings. I like that you can watch whole series in one go, back to back.
Virgin River has just been released and the little snippet I saw was about a girl moving out to a small town to live in a cabin in the woods.
It’s an American Romance and is described as follows…
“Virgin River follows “Melinda Monroe, who answers an ad to work as a nurse practitioner in the remote California town of Virgin River thinking it will be the perfect place to start fresh and leave her painful memories behind. But she soon discovers that small-town living isn’t quite as simple as she expected and that she must learn to heal herself before she can truly make Virgin River her home.” (Wikipedia)
Sounds interesting…
Netflix describe it as a Romantic Drama series. It is based on the novels of the same name by New York Times best selling author, Robyn Carr. Alexandra Breckenridge stars as Melinda Monroe and Martin Henderson as Jack Sheridan, a restaurant and bar owner and her love interest.
All the filming took place in British Columbia, Canada. Ha. I was just talking about that area in a previous post… Plus the main character appears to be a Vegetarian, at least in the first episode, so I can relate to that.

Cool… I am just at the start. But I love these city girl moves to small town in the USA, starts a fresh life, makes a lot of new friends, works through issues, goes to rustic country bars with pool tables, meets a hunky macho, rugged type guy with a checked shirt and jeans and embraces an outdoor simple lifestyle, type shows… 🙂

It’s been a slow start, but I’m caught up and still enjoying it but there’s another show on Hulu called Top of the Lake that you’d probably like more. It’s with Elizabeth Moss of the Handmaid’s Tale. I’d never heard of it before and thought it was new, but it ran 2013-2017. Check it out.
