The Valentines Girl with the Harlequin Rose

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!! Hope you’re having a good one. 🙂

So I was on a bus yesterday and a girl got on carrying this multi-coloured rose. Had to take a photo. It’s called a Harlequin Rose. Very bright. Obviously artificial. But unique none the less. They are also called Rainbow Roses. Kind of a fun rose. Less about Romance and more about Friendship.

Harlequin Rose

Her friend had one too. They were from a guy that they worked with.  That’s a nice co-worker. Keeping everyone sweet. LOL. Spread the LOVE.

Prefer Red Roses but this was kind of cool. Although it didn’t actually look real. Wondered how they created them to grow like this. Must take a bit of work.

I looked it up. They have been artificially coloured through the flower’s intake of water. This involves splitting the stem into different cups of dyed water to achieve the rainbow effect.

As they are not naturally coloured they will not last as long in a vase as regular roses. This is because the dye affects the plants’ ability to photosynthesise and survive. You cannot grow these multi-coloured roses naturally from bulbs or seeds.

So that’s a flower of a different colour that involves a bit of work. RED ROSES are still my favourite. 🙂 They were too artificial for me. Prefer Natural and Nice and Perfect.

Veggie Valentine Card

I got some VALENTINES cards. This one from a friend was Veggie friendly. I like Valentines Day. Cause it’s a day for LOVE.

PEACE and LOVE this VALENTINES Xox
