Out of Sight by Chelou – Trippy, Cosmic, Psychedelic Music Video and the Psychedelic Art of Robin Eisenberg

Out of sight – Chelou

I saw this music video a few days ago and loved it. I had to share this one as the video is very unique. It makes me think of Star Wars, Sci-Fi and Psychedelia. It also makes me think of the Burning Man Festival. It’s one of the trippiest most cosmic music videos I’ve seen. It’s a mixture of Art, Psychedelic, Space and Science Fiction. Refreshingly different.

Chelou

Chelou is a London based Singer Song Writer. He emerged onto the Music Scene in 2015 after leaking his bedroom produced track, β€˜The Quiet’. Chelou has not looked back since. Inspired by acts as diverse as PJ Harvey, Bon Iver and James Blake, the Camden born artist has risen quickly and garnered a dedicated, cult fan-base from many corners of the world.

Out of Sight

The song “Out of Sight” has a really mellow, ambient chill, addictive sound. I keep playing this song and the video just makes it totally mesmerising. It was released in 2018. The artwork for the video is by artist Robin Eisenberg and was created with Animator Kris Baldwin.

Robin Eisenberg – Artist

The artist for the video, Robin Eisenberg, is an artist, illustrator and animator based in Los Angeles, California, USA. She describes herself as follows:

“I spend most of my life drawing and thinking about drawing. When I force myself to leave my desk, I like driving around LA, playing Zelda, looking at the moon, watching Star Trek, playing piano, reading fantasy novels, and petting dogs.”

Her work has been described as “…a cheeky and alluring” take on the pop art movement of the 1960’s. Characterised by a vivid, neon colour palette, her illustrations are most widely known for depicting alien women performing everyday tasks. Her extraterrestrial settings are also heavily inspired by Star Trek and The X-Files.

In an interview with People of Print, Eisenberg described the main subjects of her work as, “space, fashion, feminism, sex, makeup, Star Trek, books, bands, the occult, makeovers, dogs, the beach, and also the idea of appreciating the weirdness in beauty and vice versa.” (Wikipedia)

Here is some of her AMAZING artwork. She is so talented. πŸ™‚

I can totally relate to this as I am always watching Netflix and always having baths. πŸ™‚ Plus I totally love Mermaids and I have a purple laptop.

Love these. I really love roller skating and roller blading. I only wish Planet Earth had more Roller Rinks and Roller Discos. And for all ages.

People living in their little Bubble Worlds. I’ve got a keyboard but it’s not pink. I’ve never seen a pink keyboard. Cool.

  1. I can see why this would appeal to you! Amazing artwork, and mesmerizing music. You mention Burning Man – I’ve often thought of what it would be like to be there, but it seems it would have been a lot more fun a few years ago. By the way, I never knew there were purple laptops!

    1. I’ve often thought of going there but I dont drive! And you need like a camper van and lots of water and to set up a themed camp. I met a guy in Truckee one day a few years ago who invited me. He was going with a few people. He said they went every year. But ny cousin who I was staying with said no! Ha. I think I will check it out one day. I remember my cousin driving from california to lake tahoe and all these campers were going past with giant unicorns and stuff and all kinds of art installations and I was thinking I’d like to go there as it looks like a very cool festival. I met a girl in Santa Cruz from Australia who went and she said it was brill. I met some other people in tahoe who said no it was too crazy so I dunno!

Yes I have a Purple Toshiba laptop and it’s amazing. It’s on its last legs though and you cant get them anymore. But yeah you can get laptops in a multitude of colours. I’m sure they even come in magnolia!!! I’m gonna get a coral red or another purple one next. πŸ’œ

      1. I don’t think I know anyone who has been to Burning Man – we must run in different circles! πŸ™‚ I could go with a purple laptop. If I got Magnolia I might not be able to find it since it would just blend in with the rest of my room πŸ™‚ I’m sure you could get an iPad with a purple cover!
