The First Full Moon of January – The Wolf Moon approaches

Full Wolf Moon approaching… I found a great video from a Youtuber called Sarah Vrba which I have shared above.

Now that the Wolf Moon is approaching I am going to be posting poems about Women and Wolves and poems about Werewolves and Wild Men and Women!

The first Full Moon of January is known as THE WOLF Moon. It is thought to be called this by The Native American Indians who could hear the Wolves howling in the cold long nights hungry for food at this time.

This is the first Full Moon after Yule and after Christmas. It is also known as The Cold Moon, Centre Moon, Severe Moon, Great Moon and The Spirit Moon. Sometimes also called The Snow Moon but this was more frequently attributed to the February Moon.

This year The Wolf Moon falls on Monday 17th January 2022. To bring us some light in the depths of Winter darkness.

I am feeling the energy of The Lone Wolf. And an energy of focusing on oneself and what one wants out of life rather than what society dictates.

This Full Moon is in CANCER (my sign) and there is a call to nurture yourself and trust your own intuition. This Moon is the last full moon of the lunar year.
