Hi there. I am an Irish Poet and Writer.
I currently live in Ireland and have also lived in other places, such as England, Scotland, France and Greece. I love to travel and have incurable Wanderlust. This is my Dream Vehicle…
When I lived in Scotland, I lived in Edinburgh, the Capital, which is one of my most favourite cities in the World, also known as the “Athens of the North” and one of “The Most Haunted Cities in Europe”.
I like to write things of a “Supernatural” nature. And this a Unique Niche. I also prefer Ryhming Poetry. And like Story Poems. Fascinated by Vampire Mythology.
The inspiration for my writing comes from literature in the form of books, poetry, comic books and graphic novels. Also from legends, fairy tales, folklore, mythology, mysticism, the occult, nature, travel and magic. It also comes from film, music, nature, relationships and real life. I am a Night Thinker and a Day Dreamer.
I like visiting mysterious places, learning about ancient civilisations and philosophers and philosophising about life. I live in The City but I’d rather live in the Countryside, near the Ocean, or beside a Forest.
I love visiting Ancient Sites worldwide and in Ireland that are maybe a bit off the Tourist Map and exploring the Magic of the Landscape and sharing this with people that want to go beyond commercial tourist advertising of the same places. I am also interested in the Music, Mythology, Art and Literature of Ireland and other cultures.
My favourite book is “Wuthering Heights”. My favourite character is “Heathcliff”. The ultimate Romantic Doomed Love story.
I love Music with a passion! All kinds of music but mainly 60s, 70s and 80s. I play piano and keyboard and my favourite piece is “Moonlight Sonata” by Ludwig Van Beethoven. My favourite song is “Souvenir” by “Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark”.
And “Eloise” by my favourite Band “The Damned”.
That’s “Dave Vanian”, Lead Singer of “The Damned”
